Dog Trainer in Enfield & North London

Dog Trainer in Enfield & North London

If you’re in Enfield or North London and struggling with a reactive dog, I can help — and yes, I travel to you. I’m Anyango, founder of Droopy Chaos Dog Training, based in Harlow, Essex. I work with reactive, anxious, and overwhelmed dogs across Enfield, North London, and the surrounding area, bringing the same approach I use at home right to your doorstep.

I know Enfield well. I know the parks, the busy roads, the school-run chaos, the narrow pavements where two dogs passing each other can feel like a disaster waiting to happen. We work in your real environment — because that’s the only place training actually sticks.

Reactive Dog Training in Enfield That Goes Beyond Basic Obedience

Most dog trainers focus on commands. Sit. Stay. Leave it. And while those things have their place, they’re almost useless in the moment your dog is already over threshold — already reacting, already gone past the point where they can take in any instruction.

I start somewhere different. I work on emotional regulation first — helping your dog build a calmer baseline so that, over time, the triggers that used to send them over the edge start to feel less threatening. When a dog feels safe, they can learn. When they’re flooded, no amount of “leave it” will help.

And I coach you too. How you hold the lead, how you breathe, how you position your body, what you do in the two seconds before a reaction — all of it matters. My 1-to-1 sessions in Enfield are as much about building your confidence as your dog’s.

Services Available in Enfield & North London

1-to-1 Handler Coaching — from £75

I come to you in Enfield or your area of North London and we work in your real environment. We assess what’s triggering your dog, build a plan around their specific needs, and I coach you through every step. You leave with session notes and the tools to keep practising between sessions.

Walk With Mwaki — £75

Mwaki is my 80kg Neapolitan Mastiff — a calm, neutral, giant training dog who helps reactive dogs learn that the presence of another dog doesn’t have to mean danger. If your dog’s reactivity is primarily around other dogs, a Walk With Mwaki session can be one of the most powerful things you do. Available in Enfield by arrangement.

Virtual Coaching — £60

If you’d like to get started before booking an in-person session, virtual coaching lets us cover the foundations, talk through your dog’s history and triggers, and build a plan you can start working on immediately. Many Enfield clients begin here before moving to in-person work.

Why Droopy Chaos?

I didn’t come to dog training through a course. I came through my own dog, Aza — a reactive dog who I struggled with for years before I finally understood what was actually happening. Every trainer I tried either made things worse or gave me advice that looked good on paper and fell apart the moment I stepped outside.

I built Droopy Chaos because I wanted to offer something different — training that starts with understanding your dog’s emotional state, not just their behaviour. That treats you as a capable adult who needs real information and real tools, not just a script to follow. And that meets you where you are: in Enfield, on your streets, with your dog, in the situations that are actually hard.

Areas Covered in North London

I travel to Enfield and regularly work across the wider North London area. This includes Enfield Town, Enfield Chase, Oakwood, Southgate, Palmers Green, Winchmore Hill, Edmonton, and surrounding areas. If you’re just outside this area and want to check whether I can reach you, get in touch — I’ll always try to find a way.

Frequently Asked Questions — Dog Training in Enfield

Do you travel to Enfield from Harlow?

Yes. I regularly travel to Enfield for 1-to-1 sessions. Travel costs may apply depending on location — I’ll always be upfront about this when we speak.

How many sessions will my dog need?

Every dog is different. Some make significant progress in 3–4 sessions; others with longer reactivity histories need more sustained support. I’ll always give you an honest picture after we’ve spent time together — I won’t push you to book more than you need.

My dog reacts to people, not just other dogs. Can you help?

Yes. Reactivity comes in many forms — other dogs, strangers, cyclists, children, traffic. The approach is the same: understand what’s driving the emotional response, and build the dog’s capacity to cope. Whatever your dog’s triggers, we start there.

Can you help with a dog who has bitten?

Possibly — it depends on the history and context. I’ll want to have a proper conversation before we book. There are situations where a veterinary behaviourist referral is the more appropriate first step, and I’ll always tell you honestly if I think that’s the case.

Are you insured?

Yes, I hold full professional liability insurance for all training and care services.

I’ve tried other trainers in London and nothing has worked. Is this different?

Possibly — it depends on what those trainers focused on. If they focused on managing or suppressing the behaviour without addressing the emotional state underneath it, then yes, this is different. Get in touch and tell me what you’ve tried. I’ll be honest about whether I think I can help.
